Description

The artist has depicted one of his most important totems, the flying fox. He calls it his dreaming, and says it is his brother.
On the body of the flying fox the artist has shown his sacred clan designs.
Flying fox is honoured in song and dance throughout Western Arnhem Land.
Because it is the artist's totem, he cannot eat it. Aboriginals regard the flying fox as a great delicacy.
