D’Lan has over 25 years’ experience as anAustralian Indigenous art consultant, dealer and gallerist, and is recognised internationally as the preeminent market authority in this field.

After working as a private dealer and as Head of Aboriginal Art at Sotheby’sAustralia for over 15 years, D’Lan established D Lan Galleries (formerlyD’Lan Contemporary) in 2016. As Director, D’Lan works closely with collectors, gallerists and institutions around the world to source, exhibit, and place exceptional works of art by Australia’s leading First Nations artists.

In 2019, D’Lan co-curated a series of collaborative exhibitions with Gagosian gallery, which included the Collection of Steve Martin & Anne Stringfield in New York. And in 2025, he partnered with Pace gallery to present a solo exhibition by acclaimed contemporary artist, Emily Kam Kngwarray in London. D’Lan has played a pivotal role in raising awareness of and appreciation forAustralianFirst Nations art globally by combining his unique market knowledge, connoisseurship and emphasis on ethical art market practices.

Diane has over 20 years’ experience in the arts industry, with a career spanning galleries, auction houses and museums in Paris, London and Melbourne.  

She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Art History from the École du Louvre and Sorbonne University in Paris. After several years working in London, Diane relocated to Australia in 2008, where she went on to hold a range of positions within the Australian arts sector, developing extensive expertise in collection management, exhibitions, logistics, artist relations and gallery operations. 

After several years at Heide Museum of Modern Art, Diane joined D Lan Galleries in April 2022, initially taking on the role of  Registrar and Gallery Manager. She was subsequently appointed Managing Director in early 2024.  

Vanessa is Curator and Writer at D Lan Galleries, where she leads the gallery’s curatorial program and scholarly publications. With nearly two decades of experience in First Nations art, Vanessa brings deep expertise in the work of leading women artists, including Emily Kam Kngwarray, whose practice she has explored through extensive research, writing, and public programming.

Vanessa has authored over forty exhibition catalogue essays and edited the definitive monograph Paddy Bedford: Gouache (2024). Her curatorial work spans Melbourne, Sydney, New York, and London, including collaborations with Pace Gallery. She has developed and hosted numerous artist talks and panel discussions, positioning significant artists within broader art historical conversations.

Before joining D’Lan Contemporary, Vanessa spent eight years working directly with artists in remote communities as Field Officer at Papunya Tula Artists and Studio Manager at Ninuku Arts. She holds degrees in Visual Arts, Art History, Community Cultural Development and a Master of Art Curatorship with Dean’s Honours from the University of Melbourne.

Luke brings over 20 years’ experience to his role as Director.

Since beginning his career as Field Officer, then Assistant Manager at Papunya Tula Artists in 2003, Luke has forged a career as a respected curator and scholar in First Nations art and is widely recognised as a leading specialist. In 2008, he worked for Martumili Artists in Western Australia, before joining the National Gallery of Victoria as Project Officer, Indigenous Art.

In 2015, he was appointed curator of Aboriginal Art and Material Culture at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, where he curated the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Awards (2016-2020) and the award-winning exhibitions Tjungunutja: from having come together (2017) and The Moment Eternal: Nyapanyapa Yunupingu(2020). More recently, he was Associate Research Fellow  at  Deakin University, Melbourne.

Isabella is a graduate of The University of Melbourne and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History, Screen & Cultural Studies. 

Previously, Isabella held the position of Fine Art Registrar & Assistant at Leonard Joel auction house, where she collaborated closely with the Indigenous Art Specialist to deliver important collections of First Nations Art at auction. Isabella has also worked as a Curatorial Assistant on local and international public art projects, contributing to the development of First Nations placemaking in public installations. 

Isabella joined D Lan Galleries as Gallery Registrar in January 2024 and was promoted to Gallery Manager in January 2026. 

Lauren Harvey has over 20 years experience as an art dealer, consultant and curator as Director of a leading commercial Australian gallery.

During this time, Lauren developed her interest in working directly with clients and artists to advise and manage collections.

Lauren holds a Master of Art Administration from COFA, UNSW and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Sydney.

In early 2024, Lauren joined D Lan Galleries as Gallery Manager, Sydney after working at Tim Klingender Fine Art.

Lucy has built her career within the Australian commercial art sector, with experience spanning both the primary and secondary markets. 

Prior to joining D’Lan Contemporary, Lucy was a Senior Specialist within the Australian auction sector, where she helped shape best practice for the secondary market, including the development and implementation of an Indigenous Art Policy to ensure clear and verifiable provenance. 

Since relocating to New York, Lucy has led the gallery’s U.S. presence, focusing on institutional engagement and the advocacy of Australian First Nations art within the United States. She works closely with museums, private collectors, and advisors, and is actively involved in placing works within major international collections 

Lucy holds an Executive Master of Arts from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts. She joined D’Lan Contemporary as Gallery Manager, New York, in January 2024.

Nicole has extensive experience in both commercial and not for profit arts industry sectors in Europe and Australia. She began her career at Christie’s auction house, London where she worked for over ten years in the Impressionist, Modern & Contemporary Art Department and as a Senior Marketing Account Manager, Europe.

In 2010, Nicole relocated to Australia and has worked in a variety of roles within the arts industry, including Marketing Manager at Heide Museum of Modern Art, Mossgreen and Leonard Joel auction houses and Marketing Director, Melbourne Art Fair.

Nicole joined D’Lan Contemporary in early 2021. She is currently based in the UK, and continues to work with the gallery to fulfil its marketing and communications requirements and to foster awareness of Australian First Nations art following the gallery’s successful inaugural exhibition at Frieze Masters 2023 in London.

Nina is a graduate of the Australian National University and holds a Bachelor of Art History and Curatorship as well as a Bachelor of Science (Psychology). 

Throughout her university studies, Nina has completed internships at several of Australia’s leading commercial galleries.  

Most recently in 2025, she completed an internship with D Lan Galleries, reinforcing her passion for and professional focus on Australian First Nations art.
