TALK SERIES | TIMOTHY COOK: Melbourne Japarra amintiya Japalinga (Moon and Stars)

‘Perhaps the greatest quality of Timothy Cook’s work is its stunning simplicity. His ability to take a multitude of references – subterranean, terrestrial, celestial, spiritual, ceremonial, familial – and refine these into one singular, iconic form is what truly marks Cook as a master.’ – Bruce Johnson McLean

In celebration of the exhibition, Japarra amantiya Japilinga: Moon and Stars, we recently welcomed Timothy Cook, Will Heathcote (Jilamara Studio Manager), Bruce Johnson McLean (Wierdi and Birri Gubba people, independent curator, consultant), and artists Conrad Tipungwuti and Walter Brooks, to our Melbourne gallery for a discussion on contemporary Tiwi art and culture.

Japarra amantiya Japilinga: Moon and Stars
