Visibility, Voice + Power: The International Rise Of Indigenous Women Artists

This year’s Frieze Week in London marked an unprecedented moment for Indigenous Australian women artists.  From Emily Kam Kngwarray’s major retrospective at Tate Modern, to presentations at Frieze Masters and Frieze London, senior Indigenous Australian women artists are reshaping how the world understands and values Indigenous artistic practice. In this discussion, curators Kimberley Moulton (Tate Modern) and Tamsin Hong (Serpentine Gallery), moderated by Vanessa Merlino (Head of Research, D’Lan Contemporary) explore why this is happening now, what it means, and where it’s taking us.

Thank you to those who joined us for the talk at No. 9 Cork Street, and for those who were unable to attend, we hope you enjoy this video.
